Retired elder Rev. Ed Cook passed away Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023. Before entering ministry, he earned his degree in hotel and restaurant management, serving as regional vice president of Jerry’s Restaurants. He returned to Oklahoma and operated a restaurant, Joe’s Cafe, in Piedmont. He also spent nearly 20 years in the Navy Reserves. After receiving the call to ministry, he attended seminary and earned his Master of Divinity. He and his wife, Liz, fostered infants. Rev. Cook’s career as a pastor, beginning in 1995, took him to Cashion, Perry First, and Tuttle United Methodist churches. Even after his retirement, he sold real estate. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Liz Cook.
