Founded in 1904, OCU is a private, independent, coeducational institution with a long-standing affiliation with the UMC. The institution offers a diverse, inclusive culture committed to producing graduates who think critically and communicate effectively.

With an enrollment of approximately 2,500 students, OCU provides a liberal arts education to students from around the globe that prepares them for a life of leadership and service. OCU offers more than 90 undergraduate and graduate programs in a wide range of disciplines.

Religious Education Student Addison Saviers said scholarship support from the UMC has had a profound impact on her education.

“The faculty, staff, and campus community have nurtured me as I navigate college,” she said. “I am able to take classes that train me to be a servant leader while allowing me opportunities to thrive in a creative environment. OCU has equipped me to lead the church and impact the world. Without the support of the UMC, I would not be able to attend such an amazing university.”

More than 10 percent of OKUMC clergy currently serving earned an OCU undergraduate degree. OCU has partnered with the Saint Paul School of Theology since 2008 to offer seminary classes.

OCU is consistently ranked as one of the top universities in the country by U.S. News and World Report. The dance, music and theatre programs are ranked among the top performing arts programs in the country and the Meinders School of Business is among the top 5 percent of business schools in the world. OCU is consistently listed in Forbes’ Best Christian Colleges and 100 Best College Buys.

OCU is an integral part of Oklahoma City, affectionately known as “Oklahoma City’s University.”
